Approval can feel comforting.
Being liked.
Being understood.
Being supported.
These things matter.
But they cannot become the compass that guides your entire life.
When approval becomes your compass, your decisions slowly begin to belong to other people.
You start asking:
"What will they think?"
"What if they don't agree?"
"What if they disapprove?"
The problem is this:
If you live long enough, you will eventually disappoint someone.
You may disappoint family.
Friends.
Coworkers.
Or people who simply expected you to stay the same.
But living a life that truly fits you sometimes requires the courage to move forward even when approval does not follow.
Because peace does not come from pleasing everyone.
Peace comes from knowing you are living honestly.
And when you choose authenticity over approval, something remarkable happens.
You stop shrinking.
And you start rising.
