We live in a culture that tells us we should always be moving, producing, and making progress. So when life slows down, we often assume something is wrong.
But what if you're not stuck?
What if you're simply tired?
There is a difference between being stuck and being rested. Being stuck feels like fear is keeping you from moving forward. Being rested is allowing yourself the space to recover before taking the next step.
Too many people mistake a season of recovery for a lack of ambition. They feel guilty for not having all the answers. They pressure themselves to make decisions before they're ready.
I've learned that some of life's most important transitions don't happen while we're running. They happen while we're resting.
Seeds don't grow because someone stands over them yelling, "Hurry up!"
Growth happens beneath the surface.
Maybe you don't need to force your next chapter.
Maybe you need to trust that something is growing even when you can't see it yet.
Before you call yourself lazy, unmotivated, or stuck, ask yourself one question:
Am I avoiding movement...or am I recovering from the journey I've already taken?
There is wisdom in knowing the difference.
Reflection Question: What would change if you gave yourself permission to rest without feeling guilty?
