If receiving help feels uncomfortable, that’s not a sign to retreat—it’s a place to pay attention.

Discomfort often shows up when old survival skills are being challenged.

For those who learned to rely only on themselves, receiving support can feel risky. Vulnerability can feel unsafe. Being seen can feel exposed.

But discomfort isn’t always danger.
Sometimes it’s an invitation.

An invitation to unlearn independence that came from necessity.
An invitation to trust that support doesn’t always come with strings attached.
An invitation to be held without performing.

You don’t have to force yourself to be comfortable.
Just be curious.

Ask yourself what that resistance is protecting—and whether it still needs to.

Growth often begins exactly where we want to pull away.
