The older I get, the more I find myself asking serious spiritual questions like:

“Lord… is this emotional maturity?”

Or…

“Do I just need a nap and some water?”

Because listen…

There was a time in my life when I loved excitement.

Drama.
Chaos.
Arguing to prove a point.
Trying to save everybody.
Overexplaining myself.
Running on caffeine, stress, and bad decisions.

Now?

If somebody raises their voice at me, I immediately start looking for an exit strategy and a blanket.

Growth or exhaustion?
Honestly… still undecided. 😄

Peace Hits Different Now

You know you are healing when peace starts becoming more attractive than attention.

At this point in life:
✔️ Cancelled plans sound amazing
✔️ A quiet house feels luxurious
✔️ Going to bed early feels rebellious
✔️ Protecting your peace becomes a full-time ministry

And let me tell you something…
I used to think boundaries were rude.

Now I think they are necessary for survival.

Because everybody cannot have access to you all the time.

Some people show up in your life like emotional tornadoes and then act shocked when you stop answering the phone.

No ma’am.

I’m protecting my healing and my blood pressure.

Healing Changes Your Tolerance

Healing will make you too tired for certain things.

Too tired for fake conversations.

Too tired for constant negativity.

Too tired for proving your worth to people committed to misunderstanding you.

Too tired for chaos disguised as connection.

And honestly?
That might actually be growth.

Because not every battle deserves your energy anymore.

Sometimes the most healed thing you can say is:

“Y’all have a blessed day.” 😄

My New Wild Side

Want to know how wild I am these days?

I buy comfortable shoes on purpose.

I get excited about staying home.

I will absolutely leave an event early if it gets too people-y.

And if a restaurant is too loud?
Baby, we are not fellowshipping there today.

Somewhere along the way I stopped confusing exhaustion with purpose.

That was a lesson.

Because burnout is not a badge of honor.

Rest matters too.

Final Thought

Maybe growth is not always becoming louder, stronger, or tougher.

Maybe sometimes growth looks like:

  • resting
  • protecting your peace
  • choosing healthier people
  • saying no without guilt
  • drinking water
  • going to therapy
  • laughing more
  • and not arguing with people on Facebook 😄

Now if you’ll excuse me…

I’m going to go enjoy this healing journey from underneath my blanket with snacks nearby.

And honestly?

That sounds like peace to me.

Be honest… is it growth, exhaustion, or both? 😄
