Let me tell you something nobody really prepares you forâŚ
When you decide to pivot your lifeâ
whether itâs after a loss, a transition, a deployment, a divorce, or just realizing âthis ainât it anymoreââ
you donât always feel strong.
Sometimes⌠you feel heavy.
Sometimes you feel tired in a way that sleep doesnât fix.
Sometimes your mind wonât slow down⌠or it wonât start at all.
And if weâre being honest?
Depression doesnât always look like laying in the bed all day.
Sometimes it looks like showing up⌠but not really being there.
Iâve had those moments.
Where I knew I needed to move forwardâŚ
but everything in me felt like it was standing still.
So if youâre in a pivot season and fighting depression at the same timeâŚ
This is for you.
đĽ 1. Stop Trying to âFix It Fastâ
You already know this one firsthand.
Every time we try to rush healing⌠we make decisions we have to recover from later.
Pivoting is not a panic moveâitâs a process.
⨠Pause is not failure. Itâs wisdom.
đ§ 2. Name What Youâre Feeling (For Real, Not Cute)
Not âIâm just tired.â
Not âIâm okay.â
Say it:
đ âI feel lost.â
đ âI feel disconnected.â
đ âI feel like I donât belong right now.â
You canât heal what you wonât acknowledge.
đđ˝ 3. Stay Connected to GodâEven When You Feel Numb
This is where people pull away⌠but itâs where you need to lean in.
And listenâthis doesnât have to be deep or perfect.
Some days itâs just:
âGod⌠I donât even have the words today.â
That counts.
đśđ˝ââď¸ 4. Move Your Body (Even If Itâs Just a Little)
You donât need a full workout.
Just move.
Walk. Stretch. Step outside.
When I learned to run in my 30s, it wasnât just physicalâit helped clear things mentally too.
Movement shifts more than your body⌠it shifts your mind.
đ 5. Donât Isolate (Even When You Want To)
Depression will tell you:
đ âStay to yourself.â
đ âNobody understands.â
đ âYouâll be fine alone.â
Thatâs a lie.
You donât need a crowdâjust one safe person.
âđ˝ 6. Get It Out of Your Head and Onto Paper
Your thoughts will run wild if you let them stay unchallenged.
Write it out.
All of it.
No filter. No judgment.
Then go back and look at itâŚ
Youâll start to see whatâs real and whatâs fear talking.
đ 7. Focus on One Small Win at a Time
Not your whole life.
Not your five-year plan.
Just today.
đ Get up
đ Make the call
đ Drink the water
đ Show up
Thatâs how you rebuild.
One small, faithful step at a time.
Hereâs what I want you to hearâŚ
Just because you feel low doesnât mean youâre not rising.
Just because itâs hard doesnât mean youâre doing it wrong.
And just because youâre in a heavy momentâŚ
doesnât mean your life is stuck there.
⨠You are still in motionâeven when it feels slow.
So if today all you did was keep going?
Thatâs not small.
Thatâs strength.
đŹÂ Whatâs one small thing you can do today to take care of you?
And if youâre in a pivot season and need help finding your next stepâŚ
